A note from Mayor Rob Burton:

Canada's Liberal government requires Oakville to allow increased density and intensification on every street as of right for federal infrastructure funding.

This will radically change our neighbourhoods and property values and gut our Livable Oakville official plan.

Our plan already provides enough housing to exceed our share of what is needed.

Our Livable Oakville plan directs the growth and  intensification we are required to take to specific corridors and nodes with transit, where it makes sense, not to every street.

Without federal infrastructure funding our property taxes will continue to go up to pay for the growth Canada and Ontario require us to accomodate.

Canada's government should pay for results, not ideologically-driven rules that won't even work.
